It’s that time of the year to begin shopping for all the necessary things your child will need to return to school. In Kentucky, most of our students return in early August, even though it still feels crazy to me to be posting about this in the beginning of July. Selfishly though, I do have an ulterior motive for this blog post. My baby boy, and only child, will be starting kindergarten this August. Such a bittersweet time. I’m excited for this new adventure in our lives, but I’m also saddened that I won’t be spending my mornings snuggled up with him in our recliner watching Max & Ruby until I’ve wondered for the millionth time just where their parents are. Despite the fact that I have a background as an elementary teacher, it’s just not making it any easier to let him go. But school is not an option and I know I’m not cut out for homeschooling. So if he must go, we might as well snag a few pics to commemorate the upcoming school year.
I’m only going to have about 10 open mini-session spots for these back to school portraits and they are tentatively scheduled for the last weekend in July just off 231 on Beulah Church Road (just a couple miles North of Hartford). Hopefully the Kentucky rain we’ve been having will hold out long enough to get these completed and we’ll still have the awesome 80 something degree weather.
So while yes, I want to show off my own kiddo, take a peek at the pics below to see what you can expect from your back to school mini-session. Cookie cutter school portraits in the fall aren’t your only option!
